We don’t know why you would want Android on your Pre considering how fantastic WebOS looks, but there are various people claiming that after a jailbreak (meaning, after hacking) the Pre you could possibly install Andriod and/or dual boot with WebOS. This is pretty cool, but I’ll probably just stick with WebOS… It looks rather yummy.
The crazy people are even claiming you could run Android inside WebOS much like you can run Windows inside a Mac, which would be interesting to say the least.

uh,… Ever heaed of bootcamp?, or how about vmware? Anyways running android on the pre should be as feasable as osx86, if not, more because as far as I can see the pre and the g1 share the same architecture the only incompatibility could be the CDMA vs GSM.,

….or the only incompatibility would be the attempt to run one operating system completely virtualized inside another, whose underlying hardware does support native a native hypervizor. Go back to your Mac, fanboi and leave OS comments to ppl who run real operating systems (linux).
O.K. first of all, i run linux as my ONLY OS and hate macs and secondly, i know that running android INSIDE the pre will be impossibly slow do to the reason you listed. i was merely suggesting that it would be possible to go through a bootloader to the android OS because there would be no incompatibilities due to palm open-sourcing their drivers FYI. and also, who gave you the right to decide who gets to comment?

Sadly this way to think or even to think about thinking about it (need a brain to understand that sentence) comes from the fact it became more user friendly with ubuntu for example, wich i don’t critise at all cause more people will use free OS and better it will be, and more dev will be obliged to work on those mervellous plateform, and Ubuntu is one of those beautiful linux OS yes. And sorry, but, the lost of users on Linux plateform comes from the 2 extrems , the old users, that would even like to use a keyboard wth only 0 and 1 and an interface in black and white with no round graphic authorised, they would maybe love those FBI machine in tv shows that’s got even the bip for everything you do, typing, bip bip bip bip, scroling, triiiiiiliiiingbiiiip, Subject found : beeedoudibibip, if they only knew that my desktop beyong the fact that its a real one and not a flash animation like in TV shows “the expert”, is a lot more futuristic than theirs, and for only good reasons, go faster through lot of apps. And the new extrem is the band of Noob, that are not kicked from chan anymore and rule the world cause they have installled linux and learnt a few commands and think this the meaning of life. To finish that declaration , i need someone strong for my palm pre BRAND NEW sleeping because of an UNBLOCK and not an UNLOCK message due to a stupid act of a friend and a result of an Hard Locked modem.
Conclusion, i use, android, on a tablet, i love my iphone 4g, my lapop asus intel core i7 rocks, extended to my LG full hd 90 cm. And i love to test all kind of os’s on the laptop i’m actually using wich is an Hp probook with , Windows Seven, Kubuntu, Moblin 2.1 final, Android x86 for testing and dev purpose, Mac OSx Snow Leopard and jolicloud to travel the world using the less battery with the best user interface i was waiting for, one of the first enought intelligent to use HTML 5 .
Instead of fighting to close yourself in a world, open it and visit all them giving to others the experience you have to share.

i use 3 operating systems currently on my main rig, fedora 14 x86_64, snow leopard 64 bit, windows 7 ultimate 64-bit, figured i would put that first so i dont get called a fanboi, regardless. running linux over osx does not make you superior given the FACT that osx runs on the BSD subsystem.
anyway, i would love to do a dual boot of web os and android on either my pre plus or my pre 2 or both, ive been searching for what i need for a bit now but seems the project died before the phone came out. sad given the components in the pre would run android no problem.
anyway i would love to see this project come back to life, im willing to help get it up and running if someone would point me in the right direction
