For all of you interested in hearing what the “official” Palm Pre ringtone sounds like, we’ve uploaded it and you can either listen, or download it below. Personally I’m sick of hearing the default iPhone ringtone everywhere I go, so this comes as a welcome surprise.
Roger Bourland (pictured above) a professor and Chair of the UCLA Department of Music, was commissioned by Palm to create 8 unique ringtones for the Pre, each ringtone being about 24 seconds long. Ironically the ringtones were composed using Apple’s LOGIC 8 software.

Palm doesn’t make desktop or portable computers, just phones. So what is the irony?
Apple makes the iPhone, the Pres main competitor
