Here at PalmPreBlog we’ve been doing a lot of day dreaming about life with a Pre while we wait for an official release date. Although no such date has been announced yet, another piece of the Pre puzzle appears to have fallen into place. Palm has apparently began shipping demo Pre units out to Sprint stores. According to a tipster over at IntoMobile, the Pre demo units are on complete lock down and have been shipped in generic Palm boxes.

This really comes as no surprise considering the steps Palm has taken in the past to keep the Pre out of the “wrong hands”. Hopefully next week we get an official release date in the WSJ on the 19th. We’ll keep you updated.
