We thought it would interesting to compare the confirmed Palm Pre specs to the rumored next generation iPhone specs that were recently leaked on the Chinese forum Chinese forum Weiphone.
Although the next-gen iPhone specs that were leaked haven’t been confirmed, they do seem very plausible so we have no reason at the moment at least to believe they aren’t true. Not all specs were leaked but we’ve compared what we know so far.

As you can see above the rumored new iPhone appears to have more memory and a larger display, but at the same time the device is larger than the Pre so that’s to be expected. The Pre is on par with the iPhone in most other areas. In the end however, I have a feeling that the physical keyboard and tethering offered by the Pre is going to seal the deal for a lot of people.

The pre doesn’t have tethering man.
Actually, at first it did and probably still technically can. The mention of tethering has been removed from the Palm website, however most people think it was just to clean things up on the site, and that the Pre still has it. - http://gizmodo.com/5156819/whered-palm-pre-tethering-go
My guess is that the Pre CAN do tethering, but Sprint has disabled it for their service.
man, does the Pre even stand a chance. lol
What sells it for me is the plan pricing. $69.99 a month for 450 minutes, $99.99 for for unlimited. What separates it from the iPhone, though, is the fact that both data and text are unlimited in every single plan. This means no 3000 page bills, no charges per kilobytes-worth of downloads, none of the hassle of the iPhone.
Now if we could just get some sense of what the phone ITSELF is going to cost, especially for somebody who is already on Sprint, has had a POS phone for 2+ years, and after rebate…
Does the iphone run multiple apps? NO.
