Should You Switch from Palm Pre Plus to iPhone 4

by Kevin on June 8, 2010

I just posted a few reasons why you should upgrade to HTC Evo 4G. What about switching from Palm Pre Plus to iPhone 4. The new iPhone looks like having so much more than Palm Pre Plus has to offer. 1GHZ vs. 600mhz processor speed, 960 x 640 vs. 480 x 320 screen resolution, 5 megapixel camera vs. 3 megapixel, and 720p videos at 30fps vs. VGA at 30fps. Plus there are so many more apps for iPhone than for Palm Pre. What’s keeping you from upgrading to iPhone 4 from Palm Pre Plus - carrier/network, price, or features?

Verizon’s cell coverage is still superior to at&t in my area and while I love Apple’s products will continue to use the my phone for regular old fashion calls 98% of the time…

Don’t get me started! I am on my 7th Palm Pre, all due to problems and replaced by insurance. I was promised a new phone at my 6th rather than refurbished but had to pay the insurance fee of 100 buck which I felt was lousy business for someone who has been with Sprint for MANY years. When the 4g came out I checked to see if my upgrade amount was worth the switch and I find out that my count down so to speak has started, not with the first Palm Pre of this stupid cycle but the most recent exchange!THIS OF COURSE IS MERELY AN EXCHANGE TO HAVE A WORKING PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Not because I have a burr in my saddle and wish to change the color! ( Just being sarcastic, I know there is no difference in color).
So in answer to your question, no upgrade $ assistance.

Its not likely I will be switching from my Palm Pre Plus any time soon.
I love the screen and how I can see it on the very brightest of days which is a massive plus plus. For my purposes, Palm has hit a grand slam for me with this product and I can see no real reason for change.

As for switching to iPhone…I’m sticking with my Pre. Not a huge app-user, and the ones I use, I love on the Pre. I’m more nervous about what’s going to happen to Palm/WebOS, now that HP gobbled them up, and Google hired the WebOS lead away. Another reason I’ll stick with my Pre is, I’m happy with the device, and Sprint service for it, including service on the one button problem I’ve had in nearly a year. I like my Pre size, look-and-feel, WebOS navigation and gestures, and don’t really want a larger device (like the growing size of the iPhone, HTC, and others. I love my Pre, and my Pre loves me!
